Who doesn't like Krispy Kreme Donuts...and who doesn't like ice cream? It only makes sense to make Krispy Kreme Ice Cream.
This easy ice cream recipe needs to come with a warning...this is one of the best no cook ice cream recipes you'll ever find and it is NOT for anyone who is counting calories.
Here's what you are going to need:
2 large eggs (since the eggs are not cooked, you may want to use pasteurized eggs)
3/4 cup of sugar
2 cups of heavy cream
1 cup of whole milk
4 Krispy Kreme donuts
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (not the imitation stuff)
Here's what you need to do:
Put the two eggs into a medium bowl.
Whisk the eggs until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Whisk in the sugar, a little at a time. Once you've added all of the sugar, continue whisking another minute or so until completely blended.
Add the heavy cream, whole milk and vanilla.
Mix well.
Now, you are going to need to part with 4 of your Donuts.
Chop the donuts up until they resemble coarse crumbs. Since fresh donuts are so soft and moist, this works best using "day old" donuts.
Add to the ice cream mixture.
Mix well. Refrigerate until well chilled, at least an hour or two.
Pour the mixture into your ice cream freezer.
Freeze according to your ice cream maker recommendations. I have a Cuisinart 2-quart electric ice cream maker and it took about 30 minutes.
ENJOY!!!
